Dear Parents,

We will be starting the Unit on stars, planets,and constellations next week.  We wanted to share this awesome newsletter with you that helps you and your students preview and review what we will be learning and doing in Science.  We will try and have one up from now on for the rest of our units this year in Science.  Have fun becoming scientists with us.

Here's an updated list of upcoming events:

Monday, February 23 –Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Rooms moms have arranged class coverage so our teachers can enjoy a special lunch.  Anyone dropping off food for the luncheon should have it at school by 10:30. 

 

Monday, February 23, 3-5PM & 5-7PM –Jumpits Night

Let the kids bounce all their energy out at Jumpits.  Details regarding time and cost on the website.  Don’t forget your socks!

 

Wednesday, February 25  –Flower Day

If you preordered flowers, they can be picked up before school in the cafeteria.

 

Wednesday, February 25  –Chicken Biscuits

Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits are available for $2.25 every Wednesday before school on a first come first serve basis.  This is not a PTA fundraiser.  The money made from biscuit sales goes into a school account that Mrs. Hanauer has designated for technology.

 

Friday, February 27  –Gift Day

If a student would like to give their teacher a small gift, gift card or note of thanks, this would be the day to do it.

 

Friday, March 13 –Family Dance

Our Family Dance will be a Hawaiian Luau this year.   If you would like to join our Family Dance committee contact Paige Gregory at schooldance@duewestpta.com.

Here are a few dates that take us up to the winter break.  It is so hard to believe that half the year is almost gone!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and a restful break.

Reading Safari

Fourth graders went on a wild safari trip with Mrs. Stigall.  We had a great time learning all about the media center.  Thanks Mrs. Stigall for doing all that you do for us!  Check out these great pics:

PTA OPEN HOUSE

Please plan on attending this years open house.  It will be Tuesday, August 19, at 7:00pm.  We will be discussing our daily routine, the daily planners, and rules/discipline for the classroom and school.  Remember, this night is for parents.  See you soon!

Welcome to Fourth Grade!

We have had a great first week in Fourth Grade!  Thank you for continuing to send in all of the paperwork and supplies.  Things have been smooth and that's helpful the first week!  I look forward to a great year!
