Is it going to be ready?? Is it going to be ready?? It can't possibly be ready!!
Students, parents, and teachers all driving by and sometimes stopping in all ask the same question. The answer is, "Yes, the building will be ready for Meet and Greet at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9 (maybe not a minute before)."
The construction workers have been busy cleaning up in preparation for all the areas still under construction to be sealed off from the main building. Though the work will continue while school is in session, the students will hardly be aware.
To watch a project of this magnitude being done in such a short time is truly fascinating. So many overseers and workers coming together to ensure that every detail is covered is amazing.
The foreman, Mr. Gene Blackwell can be seen in every part of the building overseeing every detail.
A workman rises to the challenge of installing the sprinkler system.
A new countertop for the front office. "Sign in and get your tardy slip."
A new work space for our clinic.
The main thing is to rest assured that Due West will be ready for the students for Meet and Greet and then for the first day of school. We can't wait!
Someone needs to clean out all last years pictures and comments. It is confusing.

Hi - Is there a place to review a summary of all the constuction improvements? I have searched on the Due West homepage, the Cobb County site and can't find specifics of the overall plan. Thanks in advance.
And I agree with the other comment - some of the info that is available online is nearly a year old and confusing.

I am a new student to duewest elementrery and I think it's a really good school. I am in target [the gifted program] and it's really fun. I love my teacher. Her name is Mrs Donna Chumley.
