I will continue to give out Due West dollars for all of your hard work at home!  You will be able to redeem the dollars in August when we go back to school.  

I'd love you to try out the Solar Oven smore activity.  You can follow the directions on this video or follow the directions I am sending via e-mail.  Save your pizza box oven to share with the class on Zoom next week.

Continue Studies Weekly Click on "Ancient America to Colonization." Go to Week 17, "The Southern Colonies" and read through the articles/watch the videos.

In Writable, work on the "Giving Tree" writing assignment.

For math be sure to practice math facts! Work on Freckle (assignments and/or adapted practice) or First In Math. Continue working on the Earth Day word problems.  Continue working on Chapter 9, lessons 5-8 in your My Math workbook. The McGraw-Hill link in Clever has a video clip and tutorials for each lesson under Lesson Resources.

Try this fun experiment on insulating and conducting properties of different materials.  You will need a family member to help you with this activity.

The Specialists are starting their very own Zoom call offered each Wednesday. It will be 1:15-1:30 for 3-5. Mr. Duff, Mrs. Water, Coach Strong and Mrs. Houser will be there to give exciting information about PE, Music and Art weekly activities. Mrs. Airman and the counselors may pop in as well.  I am e-mailing the meeting ID and password.

To start off our science unit on heat, go to MyOn.  Click the search button and type in the word "heat."  Read the book called "The Science Behind Heat."  I also assigned a BrainpopJr on heat.  Watch the video, take the quiz, and complete some of the activities.  

This week go to Studies Weekly, click on "Ancient America to Colonization."  Go to Week 17, "The Southern Colonies" and read through the articles/watch the videos.

In Writable, work on the "Giving Tree" writing assignment. Mrs. Flacke's blog has more information and an organizer you can use to help get you started (you'll need to scroll down to find it).

For adapted practice, after you view your dashboard, select math and choose a domain. The first time you practice in a domain, you’ll take a brief pre-test that determines your starting level. Every time you practice, Freckle will automatically adjust to give you the appropriate challenge.

1. Clicking the okay button after reading a book
2. Rate the 5 stars after clicking the button
3. Then click the blue button to save the review
4. The test will then pop up for you to complete
5. Press okay after you finish the test to submit
